If you’ve looked through my images, you’ve probably noticed a pattern of mostly on location shots. I love to get outside and photograph people in beautiful environments. Natural light is just so wonderful! However, traditional studio lighting can be fun too and doesn’t always have to be traditional if you don’t want it to be. My studio gear is 100% portable and I have a large variety of backgrounds. I can take studio shots at your location or you can come to me. The possibilities are only as limitless as our imaginations!
Take these recent pictures of Mitchell and Megan as an example. Check out what fun we had shooting inside.
This particular pose is called the “yogurt” pose. Courtesy of Mitchell
And here’s the “X”
And the “jump up in the air”
“The dancing queen”
“Hug your sister”
And of course some “traditional smiles”
This is Sabrina and her youngest daughter Olivia. Yes the same Olivia I shot downtown that’s shown in my previous post. Mom was so happy with the pictures that she decided to join in on the fun. Now you all get to see Olivia’s mother and know where this little girl gets all that charm from.
So for this shoot, we headed up to beautiful El Dorado Hills to enjoy the fantastic weather we’ve been having and enjoy the great outdoors. I have a few favorite locations up there I like to frequent. Having an arsenal of great spots to work in all over the Sacramento area is something I’ve worked hard at. Having lived here since 1997, I’ve had a lot of time to explore and really get to know my town. Plus, Sacramento sure beats the pants off the dreadfully hot summers in Phoenix, Arizona where I grew up. There are so many fantastic backdrops for portraits and weddings in Northern California. I love it!!!
Here are my favorites from the afternoon.
This is Olivia. She is my dear friend Sabrina’s daughter and just a little doll! We had so much fun doing this shoot. I do enjoy photographing children. Most of them have not developed any fears or hang-ups about having their picture taken and if you spend a little time warming them up to you they really let their little personalities shine. Here are my favorites from the day…
this one made it to the front page on my website….
