Family Vacation to Paris and London | personal

Tim and I love to travel. And, we want to instill that passion for seeing and experiencing new things in our children. So what better way to help foster the travel bug than with a family trip to two very iconic cities, Paris and London. This is only the second time we’ve been to Europe; but, the first time with the kids.

And what an experience it was. Paris is such an incredible city and we absolutely fell in love with every single part of it. Art is alive and everywhere: in the people and their French style, the food (OMG the FOOD), the street art, the architecture, the museums…all of it! Paris is a thriving city with so much heart and soul; it captivated us completely.

We also had an opportunity while in Paris to do a family photo shoot with Stacy at L’Amour de Paris. It was a thrill to be on the other side of the camera in such an iconic place. Stacy is so talented and really made our family look good! Seriously, she is the Queen of posing and knows how to bring out the very best in her subjects. I think being in Paris helps too; you can’t help but glow there.

After several days in Paris we said au revoir and headed to London via a high speed train. A true melting pot with so much diversity, London was a thrill to experience. We split our time between the city and the country; and, I’m so glad we got to experience both perspectives. The countryside was something pretty special in and of itself. The history in Oxford where so many incredible minds have studied over the years was something you can only experience in person. And the hills are everything you imagine when you close your eyes and think about the English countryside…just like in the movies. It was a good balance to the hustle and bustle of the city life we experienced for most of the trip.

We brought back so much from our adventure: photographs, beautiful art for our home, French perfume, full hearts, expanded minds, and memories we made together as a family that will last forever.

Day 1: Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter
Day 2: Walking Tour of Paris and Rue Cler
Day 3: L’Amour de Paris photo shoot, Musée de l’Orangerie, Galleries Lafayette
Day 4: Catacombs, Musée d’Orsay, Sacré-Cœur, and Eiffel Tour

Day 7: Oxford, Bibery, Buford, and the Cotswolds
Day 8: London, the Queen’s walk, the Tate Modern and the river Thame.
