Oh where do I start with these two lovelies Kate and Phil? First, they are both incredibly smart people who have great ambitions and know what they want out of life. Second, they are so stinking cute. Seriously, I’m talking about some commercial quality cuteness here! And I mean that both individually and even more so together as a couple.
Jon and I thouroughly enjoyed photographing these two at their The Lodge at Tahoe Donner wedding this fall. I think that Kate had one of the most protective and loving bridal parties I have ever encountered; it was incredible. Kate had an injury just a few weeks before the wedding, but you would have never known she was in any discomfort or pain. She was such a trooper! I think that’s what love does to us, it enables us to do things we never could on our own.
The weather was just starting to have that crispness in the air at the end of what was a long, hot summer. They celebrated with friends and family and during the reception had the most touching tribute to her father who was no longer with them. Baseball was a huge pastime for their family and in lieu of a first dance, she played a game of catch with her brother. And at the end of their session, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. It was something especially beautiful and touching.

Adorable couple and lovely pictures, Is that Kate’s mom dancing with Phil as depicted in the third to the last picture or is she Phil’s mom? She seems very happy I can’t help but think she is the mother of one of them.
Love the wilderness pictures. Happy bride and groom. The little children was a sweet addition. Always beautiful scenes and surprises in your photo’s.
You are truly an artist.
Really loved this set. It tells a story perfectly! As you scroll through it, you capture the intimacy, the humor, the love, the friendship, and the gathering of two families as two become one. Very natural shots of everyone. As if you froze time. I really enjoyed it. I will have to look through some more of these sets.
When I saw Kate, I immediately thought of intelligence, beauty, and humor. Kate and Phil really couldn’t have picked a more spectacular venue for their wedding day. It almost seemed like nature herself was looking on and enjoying the scene. The pictures are stunning artistic achievements, and I think what struck me most was the emotion that came through. Phil looks absolutely smitten, and the scenes of friends and family interacting really moved me because of their spontaneity. Congratulations, Phil and Kate, and thanks so much for sharing your love, family, and friends in the pictures.
Very interesting subject, thanks for posting.
