There are some destinations that offer a beautiful experience the moment you hit the county roads. Sonoma, California is no doubt one of them. Beautiful hills and oak trees, stunning views, and world class vineyards abound in this quaint location just a short trip out of San Francisco. It’s truly beautiful and one of a kind.
I recently photographed a wedding at a garden pavilion location in Sonoma. The venue was incredible and embodied the very best of wine country in California. The beautiful houses and vineyards reminded me of an amazing bed and breakfast straight out of a Williams-Sonoma catalog. The bride’s family used to travel to Sonoma on vacation, so it’s a very fond memory for her and part of why they chose to get married there. Most of their family and friends are from the east coast, so the event was a destination wedding for the majority of the guests.
Micaela’s dress was simple yet stunning, which was to be expected as she’s a designer with an amazing aesthetic. John is in finance, and there’s a running joke with their friends and family that he is frugal- which made for some hysterical moments in the speech from his best man. They incorporated several east coast touches, including Italian singers at the reception, and cannellonis delivered from friends.
It was a gorgeous day, and a beautiful experience for both the bride and groom- along with the guests who had never traveled to Northern California and experienced the beautiful city of Sonoma. I know it will go in the books with all the other sweet memories from her childhood that the bride holds so dear.
How gorgeous was this Sonoma Garden Pavilion Wedding! What a classic example of the beauty of love I was able to capture on their big day!
