What a gorgeous day it was for a PJ’s Bar & Grill at Gray’s Crossing Wedding on Lake Tahoe! So much anticipation filled the air as these two got ready for their big day. As I captured Morgan’s “getting ready” shots, I was reminded just how beautiful wedding butterflies can be. Each time someone mentioned Joe’s name, a huge smile would adorn Morgan’s face. When I asked her what she was most excited for, she quickly responded, “seeing Joe’s face as I walk down the aisle”. How could I not adore my job!?
Joe and Morgan decided on sharing a “first look”. For those of you not familiar, a first look is when the bride and groom set aside a time before the ceremony to meet and share some beautiful moments together before the hustle and bustle of the day takes hold. Not only is this a great time to calm nerves, and exchange some sweet words before you’re standing in front of 150 onlookers (no pressure, right?), but logistically it has its benefits! Newlywed portraits can take up to two hours depending on how many locations you want to capture. The first look is a perfect opportunity to take care of at least a large portion of those shots so that after the ceremony, you can get back to your guests and let the fun begin! Of course, if you want to capture those dreamy sunset images as the night progresses, there’s no reason we can’t steal away for a moment or two 😉
What a stunning venue! PJ’s Bar & Grill at Gray’s Crossing was a perfect fit for their rustic, romantic ceremony and reception. Cotton candy clouds and plenty of love made for an idyllic day to join these two hearts as one. I am beyond thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with and spend a truly beautiful day with Joe and Morgan. Congratulations you two, I can only imagine what beauty is in store on your journey together!
