Acres of green vines roll across the hills. Gorgeous sunset views splash across the background. A lovely terrace with a pergola surrounds the charming house. Avio Vineyards is the most picturesque outdoor reception venue I’ve ever seen…
This venue really has it all (including a random beautiful peacock that might pose for a picture!) Their style is best described as “a destination that embodies the spirit of northern Italy. [The] Amador County wine estate is reminiscent of a traditional Tuscan farmstead, complete with a rustic courtyard and fountain.”
With the combination of majestic trees and rolling hills, there’s a reason it has become such a sought-after wedding venue, and I always love photographing couples at the vineyard. For this breathtaking wedding, Lisa and Dan could not have asked for more perfect weather. Their outdoor wedding and reception were absolutely dreamy, and they were the sweetest couple to work with.
A little about them:
Dan is sentimental, so Lisa surprised him with a heartfelt scrapbook that held memories of all their moments together as a couple. It was super touching. They had musicians for the ceremony – I always love when couples do this – and the ceremony was sweet and emotional.
For their wedding day, they really wanted the focus to be on their commitment to each other and spending time with their very closest friends and family. They did most of the family photos before the ceremony so they didn’t have to leave guests halfway through. They did not have a large wedding party, and I loved that both of them had a Best Man – one of Lisa’s brothers officiated while the other stood by her side, and Dan’s brother also served as his Best Man. They had a little over 100 guests, and the setup was perfect for it! So romantic and intimate.When I asked Lisa and Dan what they were most looking forward to on their wedding day, Lisa responded, “Marrying Dan and seeing all my wonderful friends who live so far away.” Meanwhile, Dan’s response was, “Marrying Lisa, and having a cool suit and hanging out in the enchanted forest. We are both excited for some photo booth time and cornhole. And wine.”
I think all of their wishes were fulfilled in this wedding day to remember. Congrats to the happy couple!
