Today is September 11th, a day that will be remembered forever around the world and here at home in the United States. The tragedy that happened on that day will live in many of our hearts for as long as we are alive. It will be captured and documented in history so that once those who lived through it are gone; the day will never be forgotten.
I almost didn’t post today. I almost saved this blog entry for later in the week. And then I thought about it…if we don’t continue to live our lives the way we always have after the attacks that day, then we have lost. We have given in to what the terrorist’s want, for us to live in fear. I will never forget what happened that day; anyone who was alive on September 11th will always remember what it felt like when America was attacked.
But there is hope and it is the future. Time heals and restores. No one can live in a constant state of grief; we must look for the light in darkness. We must continue to be better and to treat each other with care and love as GOD wishes us to. We are to love each other as GOD loves us. A feat that is not always easy to achieve, but that we should always strive toward.
Little Brooklyn wasn’t even alive on that day ten years ago. Yet, she is the hope and light of the future. Life goes on, whether we want it to or not. Brooklyn was one of the five boroughs of New York, the city hardest hit on that day; and, Brooklyn is the name of the little girl whose images I hope bring a smile to your face on today.
And so on the 10th anniversary of 9/11, I will post these pictures of Brooklyn to remind us all that the future lies in our children and the way we teach them to love. GOD bless the world; and, GOD bless America.
These are beautiful. Love them.
