While I fully realize that the state of California is in a severe drought situation; I must say these winter sessions sans rain, fog, and super cold weather have been a delight! And so when Kathleen and Kris wanted to sneak in an engagement session in February, two short months before their wedding this April, I knew finding a weekend with weather suitable for an outdoor shoot would be a piece of cake.
Because these two love the outdoors so much we decided to head to the mountains and do some Apple Hill engagement photos. High Hill, normally a very crowded venue in the Fall, was a ghost town for our session. Probably because most February’s are cold, wet, and muddy up there! So we took full advance of the unusually warm and dry weather and spent the afternoon chasing light and love in the Sierra Nevada foothills. It couldn’t have been a better day.
And although I’m enjoying this strange winter weather we’ve been having lately, I really hope these two get the spring snow they are hoping for next month for their wedding in Lake Tahoe.
love those first five. SO GOOD.
Great interaction between them. Love the silhouette under the tree.
Phewie, I love the collection, really really great… but what was up with those ducks wearing toupees, ha 🙂
I love that first one of them climbing the boxes and the one with the crazy hair ducks! Nice use of direct sunlight.

The way you frame is so beautiful Teresa. You know how to compose a brilliant photo and it’s what makes you stand out. Amazing!
I am absolutely in love with how you use directional light. You rock!
