This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of joining my good friend and fellow photographer Julia Jensen to help her shoot a wedding in Turlock. I was a little nervous that the weather wasn’t going to cooperate with us as it had rained cats and dogs the day before, but the sun decided to make an appearance just for the wedding.
Albert and Petra were a really sweet couple. In the 8 hours I spent with them, I could tell that their love for each other was very deep. It was a pretty large wedding with lots of people joining in the celebration of their union.
Since I was the second shooter for this wedding, I will not be posting a slideshow…so hang on for a BIG post with LOTS of pictures!
This was my first time to Turlock and it is a really cute town. The house where Petra and her bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready was very “East Sac”. I loved it!
Julia is also a very talented hairdresser and did Petra’s hair for the wedding.
Everything was red, white, and black…very timeless and beautiful!
All the girls wore these super cute sandals (the brides were white and the bridesmaids were black)
The boys wore their soccer shoes! I understand that soccer is something that is important in both of these CSUS students lives.
And what a fun group of guys they were! I got to spend a little time with them at the campus while Julia stayed with the bride.
Isn’t Albert such a handsome groom? He just radiated calmness and was really cool to be around.
The ceremony was held at the Sacred Heart Parish in Turlock. The church was absolutely beautiful.
Petra and Albert shared a lot of small moments together throughout the ceremony that I was so happy to capture.
The unity candle symbolizes separate lives being joined together by extinguishing the two lights of the side candles and the combining to light the single large center candle. I think it’s such a beautiful and meaningful tradition!
Before Albert and Petra left the altar as man and wife there was a presentation of flowers. In this tradition, the bride places a small part of her bouquet at the statue of the Virgin Mary before she walks back down the aisle as a married woman.
These guys were so much fun to take pictures of…
I mean really…
You can tell how in love they are just by seeing the way they look at each other.
Isn’t she so beautiful?!
Julia did engagement pictures at this cute little barbershop…so we went back there to take some of the bride and groom….it was less than a block form the reception area. Ahhhh, the joys of small town living!
On to the reception…
Love the birdcage card holder…
Albert’s Dad gave a very touching speech. Look at how his wife still looks so lovingly at him after all their years of marriage.
Check these girls out during the bouquet toss…they really mean business!! Luckily, no one was hurt.
After the lights went out…the party REALLY got started! Congratulations to these two newlyweds. I wish them both many years of happiness. I want to say thank-you again Julia for having me along, you are a great friend and always a BLAST to work with.
These are all incredible. I love the one of them holding the candles together. Such beautiful light!
