R always dreamed of a summer wedding; and, her July St. Joseph Catholic Church and Gold Hill Gardens wedding did not disappoint! Never a fan of cold weather she wanted those hot days and cool nights that are such a staple of northern California. And the weather cooperated alright, with a toasty 103 degree day! What I find special about this is that now in the peak of summer when the days are at their longest and the nights at their warmest, R and M will forever have this memory of the senses that will take them back to their wedding day.
Yes, it was hot, but Lora Ward of a Day to Remember kept the bride and groom, their wedding party, and us vendors cool the entire day. Seriously, she runs an amazing show. And Gold Hill Gardens is one of my favorite venues. The owner Mike and his wife Cindy are incredibly gracious and they open their house and hearts generously. We even got to ride in Mike’s truck out to the hilltop for sunset pictures (which is an expereince in and of itself).
R was a vision on her wedding day in her incredibly beautiful dress with her sweet doe like eyes and long flowing hair. It’s easy to see why M fell in love with her. She was a trooper under all those layers too…truly! And M was always the gentleman putting others above himself the entire day. They are both just those kind of people. It was a match made in heaven and one that will no doubt stand the test of time.
Oh and did I mention the cows? You’ll see what I mean soon enough…

Wow, this is lovely, a summer wedding is what I want for myself also, I really hope my own wedding will turn out as lovely and colorful as that of this couple.
I just love how traditional this one feels. Like from the beginning till the end. Then you get some random animal shots in for a bit of humor. I must say the one that stood out the most for me was the long shot of the couple standing by the tree. The first one, the way the sunlight breaks through and over the trees… It was beautiful. A perfect moment in time.
Well, I’m a little overwhelmed. I sure appreciate the contrast between the very spiritual, sacred moments at the church and some of the rowdier shenanigans in the limo and outside. The pictures had me all over the map emotionally, laughing one minute and tearing up the next. I loved the cow, and the kids, and the looks between father and daughter. You can’t mistake the intense feelings of love and devotion. Very moving, and a wonderful glimpse into these two very lovely people’s lives. God bless, Matt and Rebecca. Thanks for sharing this. 🙂
