Some people wear their heart on their sleeve, but not Katie. This girl wears her soul on her sleeve. And it’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Recently relocated from her Sacramento home to the East Coast, I didn’t get to meet Katie when she first booked me. But from our phone conversations, I knew she was something special. When she got into town and we were finally able to meet, I knew my intuition was right…such a beautiful, sweet, spiritual girl. And her Ryan is exactly the perfect man for her. A handsome, even-tempered, gentle soul whose quiet ways stole her heart.
It turned out to be one of those hot summer days we get from time to time in Sacramento. But the heat, just like these two, was meant to be. Maybe you could even say the heat was part of the joining of these two as man and wife…welded together under God and the hot sun into one with a new, completely unbreakable bond.
It was a beautiful McKinley Rose Garden wedding and the roses were showing their best summer blooms. And if it hadn’t been for the heat, we might not have made it to the library, which unbeknownst to me, was a place Katie and Ryan spent time together while they were dating!
Did I also mention the girls got ready in the cutest East Sac house? Or that there was a bagpipe led recessional? Or that our dearest Katie is a fiery auburn beauty with the most adorable pigtails ever? Yeah, it was a good day…a really, REALLY good day!

My heart melted seeing the photos of the bride coming down the aisle. It’s an amazing thing when you’re able to get a stranger chocked up with your work. Love.
