Sarah is wild, fun, free, and beautiful. Brian is practical, quite, charming, and handsome. If ever a pair was completely complimentary to each-other, it’s these two. She keeps him on his toes and he keeps her grounded. After spending time photographing them at their engagement session, I couldn’t wait for the wedding.
Sarah is the only girl in a family full of boys, while Brian’s family is a little smaller with just his Mom and Dad and brother. Brian’s Dad had some medical issues this year, so his presence at the wedding was extra special. The emotion coming from him throughout the day was beautiful to observe…truly.
And their friends were crazy, fun, cool. We started the day at the Citizen for some getting ready shots in the hotel and around downtown Sacramento. The ceremony was at one of my favorite churches here in Sacramento, Saint Mary’s. We did the majority of the bridal party session and the bride and groom portraits in and around Old Sacramento. Sarah arranged for us to have access to the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse museum for portraits. She’s a school teacher which made the location oh so appropriate. We all crammed in that little building and had the most fun getting some amazing shots!! Then we wrapped the night up at the always wonderful Courtyard D’Oro, run by Event Architects.
The wedding décor was rustic chic and Sarah and her girls totally rocked those cowgirl boots! This entire wedding was so full of win!
As a photographer it’s very interesting for me to observe the dynamics of families joining together on the wedding day. They were both very kind and loving…Sarah’s family echoed her outgoing personality, while Brian’s family echoed his. I think the whole event was extra special to me because I saw a bit of Tim and me in them. It was like looking back in time…in a very, very good way.
I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for these two!
