I want to take a moment to interrupt your regularly scheduled wedding related posts to share with you images from our recent travels through Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana (otherwise known as the wild west). And what a beautiful and wild part of the United States it is. After leaving California we were pleasantly surprised to see a part of the country where every inch of gorgeous, inhabitable land did not have a house on it!
The whole area really blew my mind. Yellowstone, with all its wildlife, thermal features, and Yellowstone Lake was amazing. The Chief Joseph Highway and the Beartooth Pass to Montana was the most beautiful stretch of road I have ever driven in my entire life (no exaggeration). Art was alive and well in the small towns we visited and the people were always kind. We even took in a rodeo and a cowboy supper show!
This was also the first time I freed myself while traveling of the “big girl” camera and just shot with my Fuji x100s. I can’t tell you how liberating it was to just go out and take pictures without fussing over a lot of gear and lenses. I would venture to say that also made the trip more enjoyable for the whole family!
It is not lost on me what a blessing it is that we are able to travel and show the world to our children. To me, vacationing together is some of the best memory making you can do as a family. It’s also something I never take for granted and hope to be able to do for many more years to come. I hope this post inspires you to go out and see more of the area surrounding you…you may be surprised what you find. I know we were.
