One of the things I love the most about this job is getting to know my clients as they plan for one of the best days ever. I always find it really interesting to hear their relationship origin stories. You just never know how the love of your life will cross your path and for each person it’s always a little different. For Jackie and Newton, it was an office romance. It all happened quite casually, but at the same time with much intent. Their paths crossed very unintentionally in the office, but from the moment Newton saw Jackie and he knew right away she was special. Whether is was her beautiful long dark hair, her smile that radiated love and joy, or her quiet, mysteriousness spirit that drew him in it didn’t matter…he was mesmerized. And Jackie, a little more on the conservative side, couldn’t help but fall in love with this man. This smart, handsome man who brought out in her something a little different, something she didn’t always know was there. It was as if he unlocked a part of her that had been hiding.
It didn’t take long for Jackie and Newton to decide that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. And never ones to hesitate when something feels right, they have already started a family. Well…joined a family is more like it. In addition to planning their wedding, Jackie and Newton spent their engagement getting to know their new family, RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF (RWB) a Porsche tuner located in Japan with brand new offices in California. I love that these two share this common hobby that’s had them traveling like mad together. It made wedding planning a little crazy, but I know it was worth it for these two. They even brought their own Porsche to their engagement session…these are car people for sure!
They said their vows in a very Sacramentian way, by the banks of the American River with their wedding at Scott’s Seafood on the River in the Westin. We even found a way to make it over to the river itself for a few portraits…we did have to make it past some grumpy fisherman, but Jackie and Newton were truly dedicated to getting amazing images! And the ceremony….I die. Between the touching moment when they laid a rose on the chair reserved for Jackie’s father who is no longer with us, to the pure happiness I literally felt in every word of their commitment and expressions of love for each other. It was so beautiful, I actually shed a couple tears of my own. Then the reception literally came and took it all to the next level. It was a good day…indeed.
