Folsom to Yosemite National Park via Hwy 395 | personal

It’s been far too long since I’ve left the comfort of home to be out on the road. It’s like there’s this thing deep inside me that longs to travel. I’m always wanting to see and experience new things, but life seems to find a way of making me feel to busy to leave. And so on a whim (and a rare wedding free weekend) we decided to take a break as a family and sneak away for a quick weekend trip from Folsom to Yosemite. It was a much needed breath of fresh air in what has been a busy and hectic life lately. Being on the road with Tim and the kids, away from it all and immersed in the beauty of God’s creation, I am always reminded of how blessed I am. It really does help me keep things in perspective. And, I came home with a promise to myself that I won’t wait so long to get away again.

Day 1: Highway 49, 108, and 395 to Mammoth Lakes and Devil’s Postpile
Day 2: Yosemite via the Tioga Pass and the June Lake Loop
Day 3: Mammoth Lakes area and home via Highway 395 and 88/89

  1. Two pictures I really like in this photo diary. Two of my favorites are the foggy forest and #8. Hard to choose all so good.

  2. Might want to check out the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls – very close to Upper and Lower Yosemite falls – the Mountain Room restaurant is open for dinner so you can have dinner and watch the falls at sunset – food isn t all that great but view is awesome. Which Yosemite National Park hotels are on sale?

  3. That rainbow!! So beautiful! I love nature shots and I don’t know how you did it but each and every one of these is very beautiful. It looks like they were taken right from a professional magazine. How do more people not know of your work!? I will definitely be following you on social media!

  4. Wow, this is so different but I like it. Beautiful, your detail shots shine as art compositions. Your ability to tell a story through your photos is just amazing. Nice natural places and nice photos. Thank you for sharing it, i love this post.
