Jenna is one of the sweetest, most thoughtful, caring, and beautiful people I know. So when she contacted me to take portraits of her family, I was thrilled to get to spend some time with her and her familia! Jenna wanted something a little different for her session and was looking for a more urban feel to the shoot. So we headed to downtown Sacramento on K Street to get some casual portraits of Jenna, her fantastic guy James and her lovely daughter Kailah.
The session ended up being a mix of family, individual and couple portraits. I always allow plenty of time with family sessions so we can capture the individuals and their unique relationships within the family. Plus the extra time we spend just helps create a more relaxed look. I guess it’s my own brand of “no pressure” pictures. Besides, it is so much better when we’re all having fun.
We started at the corner of K Street & 10th…
We did a little twist on the “dip” shot…and incorporated the train. I wonder what the people onboard were thinking
And you can’t do a downtown session, without running into some of Sacramento’s more “colorful” characters…
