2013 was a year of transition for me. I completed my transformation to “Apple fangirl” by ditching my PC for an iMac, made the leap to Lightroom (why did I wait so long again?), and started incorporating constant lighting into my reception images. I won another Bride’s Choice Award (four years running now), gained acceptance into the WPJA, and got a brand spanking new website for Christmas courtesy of William at Flaunt your Site!
I made a lot of new friends with whom I shared some very intimate moments. I laughed with them, cried with them, and captured their stories with my camera. It was a monumental year for me in many, many ways. It’s been a journey and my growth as an artist continues. The evolution I’ve experienced as a photographer is surprising, humbling, and rewarding beyond measure.
I can not say thank-you enough to the people who make this possible for me. This includes both my clients who let me into their lives and trust me to capture their stories and my family and friends who understand “wedding season” is code for lots of weekends away and days on end locked in the office editing images.
So grab some tea, coffee, beer, or wine (hopefully not all four at the same time) and settle in while this post loads. There are a lot of images I want to share with you and my 2013 year end post would not be complete without including all of them…your browser may need a minute to catch-up!
And now presenting, in no particluar order, the year that was 2013!
